Off the TePoel: Excuse-o-meter is back!

The Twins, on this 2 and 2 road swing, won the first game and lost the next three. It is normal for fans and the players to ask, “Why? Why did we lose three in a row?”

I haven’t been able to watch the games very closely, but if I had to say reasons for why we lost it would go something like this:

Game 1 – we lost because Blackburn was horrible and we scored zero runs. Defense looked bad too.

Game 2- we lost in a rain-shortened contest because the Orioles scored more than we did.

Game 3 – we lost because we had 14 hits and could only manage 4 runs. Not good.

Ahh yes, but this is the Twins so the excuse-o-meter is back! And this time it’s hit at least an 8 or a 9!

The club didn’t lose because of the reasons above. Nope, Cuddyer lets us all know why the Twins were doomed again.

“It sounds strange, but these series are tough. It gets you out of your routine. “It’s only been four games, but it feels like we’ve been on the road for two weeks.”

What a huge baby. How many millions do you make? You played baseball in two cities over the last four days and that is “tough?” You had to fly from Minneapolis to Detroit, and then Baltimore? Oh no! That’s like 8 bajillion miles of flying first class!! In your own jet, even? That’s rough.

Even Ron Gardenhire got into the act, saying ““We’ve done a lot of flying around this week,” manager Ron Gardenhire said. “It’ll be good to go home and see if we can play better.” And if you don’t play better at home? I can’t wait to hear what it might be then. Maybe the Friday night game starts at 7:10, and the Saturday at 6:10, and then Sunday it starts at 1:10!?!? What do they think they are doing?

Thank you, Yahoo Sports, for posting these comments from our fearless leaders.

Just go out and play the game, please. If you lose, you lose, but don’t blame two game sets. Unbelievable.

This at least hits an 8 on the excuse-o-meter. Stay tuned as the long season develops and someone will certainly hit a 10.
