Off the TePoel: Hawk is Losing It

Wow.

Being in Iowa City, I have the misfortune of being able to watch the Twins on TV only when they play Chicago teams or make a national appearance on ESPN. This means I have to listen to the dreaded play-by-play of Hawk Harrelson.

Tonight, as Span grounded into a double play to end the rally and secure the Pale Hosers win, Hawk yelled like a thirteen year old girl who just won two free backstage passes on the radio to a Jonas Brothers concert. That or a hick at a Kid Rock concert.

“Yes! HEULL YES! MERCY!”

Where did this “mercy” thing come from? He said it about five times in tonight’s broadcast.

You would have thought they just won the pennant. How embarrassing. Seriously, I hope someone recorded that and will put it on YouTube.

Just don’t let Hawk know when the Miley Cyrus tickets go on sale.
